 Anthony Carey

Beautifully crafted fine art; highly detailed and skilfully painted landscapes of the English countryside at its best, or rich, vibrant and spontaneous still-life...the choice is yours!

Lucky enough to live in the beautiful South Devon area of England, Anthony's studio and framing workshop are situated at his home in the seaside town of Teignmouth. A painter of some finesse, his landscape oil paintings are beautifully crafted, with enough detail to allow realism, yet individual enough to maintain a 'painterly' style, his vibrant and spontaneous still-life, stunningly decorative fine art in their own right, or his abstract work, meaningful on so many levels, all bound together by a commitment to quality and professionalism that underlies all of Anthony's work.

He started painting in the early eighties and, at that time, inspired by his love of early 20th century art, painted large, highly individual works in acrylic paint which proved to be extremely popular, and participated

regularly in both solo and group exhibitions. This carried on, with  variations, until 2012, when he was accepted for formation to the Permanent Diaconate. Regular visits to seminary left him little time to paint until his ordination. Anthony is now an ordained deacon in the Catholic Church and able to combine his painting with his ministry.

The break did him good. With a change of media, a change of palette, a change of technique and a renewed vigor and love for art, his work has never been so popular. His paintings appeal not only to the casual purchaser, seduced by colour, composition and the sheer beauty of his art, but also to the more serious art collector who appreciates the quality and uniqueness of Anthony’s work. Paintings have been shipped to the United States, Australia, Europe and throughout the UK.
